Can Carmelo Anthony Will The New York Knicks Past the Boston Celtics?
The New York Knicks are back in the playoffs, thanks to the offensive prowess of Amar'e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony, along with great play from Chauncey Billups and contributions from role players.
The Madison Square Garden faithful are glad to see their team in the postseason once again, but they realize that a matchup against the Boston Celtics could easily make their stint in the playoffs a very short one.
The Knicks love getting up-and-down the court while the Celtics operate much more in the half-court; the changing of tempos will be something worth watching the entire series. Whichever team can play at their pace and for the other team out of their comfort zone should have the upper hand.

However, Carmelo Anthony is the determining factor in this series. He's the type of big-game, clutch player the Knicks haven't had on their roster in a long time.
He's a game-changer that can get off his shot at anytime, and when he gets going the Knicks are very hard to stop. Forget the Celtics defense, Melo's one of the most dynamic pure scorers in the NBA. It doesn't matter who's guarding him.
If he can shoot consistently, put forth somewhat of an effort on defense, the Knicks could make it a series.
I won't go as far to say that Carmelo will beat the Celtics by himself, but if New York steals a game in Boston, the Knicks could possibly stun the C's.
