2011 NFL Mock Draft: Will the Houston Texans Show Interest in Da'Quan Bowers?

The Houston Texans Take A Chance On Da?Quan Bowers

The Houston Texans can hit one of several spots on their defensive line and not go wrong, but with Da?Quan Bowers available, the temptation is too great to pass up.

Phillips is switching the defense back to a 3-4 scheme and is going to need new personnel, so with Bowers on the board, the Texans have to decide if the knee issue is serious enough to pass him up.

I think the knee issue is being overblown by 24-hour media outlets, and that if the knee issue truly was something that could be career-threatening, the ?story? would be vastly different right now.

Bowers is very quick and can get to the quarterback. Any issue his knee might have will be helaed by the time the season starts, according to Bowers, and any concerns a team might have about a future injury are kind of silly since any player can be injured on any play in any game.

Bowers is like any other prospect at this point, he either will go on to have a great career, or he will not. Time will tell.

Bowers will be a good fit for Houston and give them a good bump in their sack numbers his rookie season.

Forget any kind of offensive pick here. The Texans do have some needs, but nothing that needs addressed in the first round.
