One of the top video games on the market is set to return when NBA 2K15 is released on October 7.
According to IGN, NBA 2K14 was the third highest-selling video game on next-generation consoles and was the highest sports game overall, topping popular attractions like the Madden and FIFA series. With plenty of hype surrounding the latest version, you can expect an even bigger rush for this year's game.
The franchise also got an endorsement from the man who will grace the cover, Kevin Durant:

Of course, fans do not just want to throw their money away for a product that will be the same as the year before. The good news is there will be massive improvements throughout to make it worth the cost of a new game.
Here is a breakdown of what to expect in 2K Sports' newest product.
Improved Visuals
One of the reasons this game has been so popular in the past is that it always features the best graphics on the market. While it should be tougher to capture the faces of each NBA player as opposed to just putting helmets on NFL stars, this has not slowed down the creators from making incredible improvements each year.
Chris "Birdman" Andersen comes complete with full tattoos and facial hair to capture the essence of the iconic player:

You can even see the sweat drip off Kevin Durant in this screenshot:

The graphics look as good as anything we have seen. On the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the visuals will be unmatched.
Realistic Presentation
Not only are the graphics improved in the latest version, but the game takes one more step forward with a realistic presentation at each stage.
The recent Yakkem Trailer showcases each team's entrances and starting lineup announcements, pregame huddles and even studio analysis with Ernie Johnson and Shaquille O'Neal:

There are even realistic dance routines thanks to motion technology with various squads around the league:

Fans of the NBA can pretend they are watching a real game while having the ability to control the action on their own consoles.
Extended Franchise Mode
Playing online and against your friends is enjoyable, but real gamers want something to keep them occupied for a long time. This is where the MyGM mode comes in play.
As Matt Bertz of GameInformer points out, the latest version has tons of new wrinkles, including new owner feedback with the possibility of teams being sold during the course of your time at the helm, new general manager tools, more realistic player progression and smarter opponents.
Still, the most intriguing changes might come to the draft, as Bertz writes:
Visual Concepts plans to surface several storylines throughout the year based on research it did on the last 20-30 draft classes. The various types of players you could encounter include flash-in-the-pan players who may be at their full potential already on draft day, late bloomers who rise up the draft board at the last minute, players with serious injury concerns that you may not know about unless you him in for a visit. It could end up working out like it did for the Celtics with Jared Sullinger, or you could have a Greg Oden on your hands.
Your draft is not simply going to be deciding who is the best player for your team. You have a number of different options when you are on the clock, trying to decide between high-upside talents versus safer college stars, just like real NBA teams.
This obviously makes things more difficult, but this is one more way NBA 2K15 provides the most realistic experience possible.
