FOLEY, Alabama - Firefighters, sheriff's deputies, power crews in Baldwin County head north to help tornado victims.
Firefighters from the Fish River-Marlow Volunteer Fire Department packed up and headed to west-central Alabama today to help communities hit hard by Wednesday's tornado outbreak. Crews packed chainsaws, shovels, generators and emergency supplies...they will help clear roadways covered with storm debris.
Baldwin County Sheriff Hoss Mack is also sending help. Deputies specializing in search and rescue and recovery loaded up two trucks and headed to Tuscaloosa Thursday morning.
And in Summerdale, 30 men employed with Baldwin EMC packed up and drove to Cullman, Alabama...where tens of thousands of people are still without power.
The Baldwin County crews say they didn't hesitate to head north. They say emergency crews from across Alabama helped with relief efforts when Hurricane Ivan made landfall.
