Nancy Kerrigan, New Lakers Coach, Peyton Manning and Wednesday's Sports News

Nancy Kerrigan's brother, Mark, was acquitted Wednesday on charges of manslaughter in the death of Kerrigan's father, Daniel.

The jury deemed Daniel Kerrigan's death to be the cause of a heart attack in the January, 2010 conflict between Mark and Daniel at the family's home in Stoneham, MA.

However, Mark, 46, was convicted of assault and battery in the case.

In the NBA, former Cleveland Cavaliers coach Mike Brown has reportedly been offered the Los Angeles Lakers coaching gig following the retirement of the great Phil Jackson.

Brown will reportedly be offered a four-year, $18 million contract with the Lakers.

Brown's always been known as a defensive coach and motivator, but his time with LeBron James in Cleveland has some wondering if he can handle the egos of the NBA. He's also not a prominent offensive coach.

Apparently the Lakers didn't feel assistant Brian Shaw, who had been waiting in the wings while Jackson coached, was fit for the job,.

In NFL news, the NFL lockout isn't the only thing hanging over Colts fans' heads. Their franchise quarterback, Peyton Manning, just had his second neck surgery in the last 15 months on Monday in Chicago.

Everything apparently went well, but it doesn't change the fact that Manning is 35 years old and the Colts will need to find a replacement soon.

For this and a whole lot more, tune in after the (page) break.
