A Saturday afternoon boating trip turned deadly this weekend for a Semmes woman. Gentry Garrett was riding in a boat with her 13 year old daughter when the vessel collided with another boat. Authorities say the accident happened around 3:30pm on Bayou Canot near Satsuma.
Alabama Marine Police tell News 5 the boats failed to yield right of way. The driver of the boat Garrett was riding in was driven by her uncle, Richard Cobb. Cobb was arrested and charged with B-U-I. He was booked into Mobile Metro Jail on Saturday.
Alabama Marine Police were continuing their investigation as of late Sunday afternoon.
