Week 8 NFL Picks: Favorites Guaranteed to Cover the Spread

Week 8 is full of outstanding NFL matchups.

Robert Griffin III will lead Washington against the Steelers. The Cowboys will take on the Giants in a division showdown. The battle of the birds will happen in Philly. There's even a game taking place in London between the Patriots and Rams.

But, as always, there are close games that can be a tossup either way, and these are the pick-em games that are so tough to select.

So, to help you decide, here are the NFL favorites sure to cover the spread.

 

San Diego (-3) at Cleveland

The Browns are terrible, there's no doubt about it. Brandon Weeden and company will be competing for a top 10 pick once again.

On the other hand, the Chargers have all the talent in the world. They just have to show up to play every week.

The Browns defense is way below average, expect big games from Phillip Rivers and Ryan Mathews as the Chargers easily clear the spread.

 

 

Miami at New York Jets (-2)

The Jets played one of their best games of the season last week in a loss to the Patriots, and the Dolphins are coming off a nail-biter versus the Rams in which they squeezed out a victory.

Seems like a pretty close matchup from the start made even closer by the stats. The Jets are one of the worst passing attacks in the NFL while the Dolphins have one of the worst pass defenses. And the same thing is true going the opposite way with the run.

The Dolphins offense has been decent but not brilliant, and they should match up well with a stingy Dolphins D.

It'll be close, but expect the Jets to clear the two-point spread with a win at home.

 

 

Seattle at Detroit (-2.5)

The Lions are in need of a win in the worst way.

Expect them to handle business at home against a stingy Seahawks defense.

Matthew Stafford and company won't have the easiest time, but expect them to score just enough to eke out a win against Seattle, whose offense will have a tough time scoring on a balanced Lions defense.
