NY Rangers: McDonagh Sustains Minimal Injuries, Team Looks to Maintain Success

The dust has settled, and the New York Rangers now report that Ryan McDonagh has sustained minimal injuries and will be playing in Tuesday night's game against the Winnipeg Jets

Blueshirt fans across the nation can breathe a sigh of relief; a critical blow to the Rangers' already battle-scarred defense has been avoided.

McDonagh left Saturday's game against the Bruins during OT after a vicious hit by Andrew Ference left him badly shaken up.

McDonagh initially looked to be badly injured on the play, but an interview on BlueshirtsUnited.com told fans otherwise.

With just one game remaining until the All-Star break, the currently successful New York Rangers take on a formidable opponent in the Winnipeg Jets and look to gain some momentum toward the remainder of the season.

It will not be a cakewalk, as West Coast teams seem to be challenging opponents for East Coast teams and vice versa.

With McDonagh remaining in the lineup, the Rangers need not make any sudden changes to their defense.

With most defensive pairings working well together—save the occasional mistakes made by the less experienced groups—the Rangers seem to be on a road to success.

Currently 30-12-4 and tied for the title of first in the Eastern Conference, the Rangers are off to their best regular season in what seems to be (and what might actually be) decades.

If this team can avoid any major injuries, tweak their power play a bit and find some life in their offensive game, the New York Rangers are in for a deep playoff run.
