The most powerful Range Rover in history debuted yesterday evening, giving Monterey festivity-goers the first live look at the 550-horsepower, $110,000 Sport SVR.
As we recapped previously, the SVR can hit 60 miles per hour in a scant 4.5 seconds and run all the way up to 162 mph. That's thanks to the most potent version of Jaguar Land Rover's well-known 5.0-liter, supercharged V8. Paired up with an eight-speed automatic from ZF, we expect the SVR to nicely balance the sort of high-performance antics allowed by its engine with the relaxed, comfortable driving nature typical of the entire Range Rover family.
Aside from the increased performance, Land Rover has given the SVR-spec Sport a comprehensive visual overhaul, significantly upping the aggression with larger intakes in the front fascia and a very noticeable set of quad-tipped exhausts at the back.
We have a small gallery of images of the SVR at its debut yesterday evening. Take a look up top for those, and then head below for the press release and the full gallery of official images from Land Rover.
