San Francisco Giants Trade Rumors: Latest Updates, News and Reaction

The San Francisco Giants have been in control of the National League West for much of the 2014 MLB season, so they will now have to assess their roster and decide if they need to make any deals at the trade deadline.

For part of the first half of the season, it looked like San Francisco would run away with the NL West. However, the Los Angeles Dodgers have come back and made it a race again. It's tough to find any holes on the Giants roster, but after blowing a 9.5-game lead in 21 days, this team may need to make a deal to try to get back on track.

Through the first three months, one could argue that the Giants were the winners of the offseason. Signing Michael Morse and Tim Hudson has paid off nicely.

San Francisco won the World Series in 2010 and 2012. What do those championship seasons have in common?

During each season, the team acquired a position player who would go on to play an important role down the stretch. Cody Ross (2010) and Marco Scutaro (2012) each came over during the season and went on to be named the National League Championship Series Most Valuable Player.

It's another even year, so fans are curious to see if ownership can continue to work its magic.

Make sure to keep checking back here to see what rumors the Giants are involved in and what deals the team makes as the MLB trade deadline approaches.
