NFL Draft 2011: How High Will J.J. Watt's Stock Rise on Draft Day?

Watt could benefit from teams' need to fill devensive voids in 2011 NFL Draft

After recording 106 tackles and one interception during the 2010 season, J.J. Watt solidified his place as first round pick.

The only question that remains is just where in the first round he'll go. Watt is a player that is versatile enough to thrive in a 3-4 defensive if placed in one. He is also a large enough individual that you can put him into a 4-3 scheme and he'd be able to immediately make an impact.

Throughout the spring it has appeared that the Patriots at No. 17 and Chargers at No. 18 would be fighting for Watt. Other defensive standouts like Cameron Jordan are expected to be available, but it's clear that Watt is the more desirable prospect.

Recently he has been in discussions surrounding the potential of being a top 10 selection of the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys run a scheme that would welcome a player of his size and he could pull the trigger on him if other players sparking their interest are off the board.

With other defensive options available it seems unlikely that the Chargers would move to acquire Watt. But the Patriots have a history of moving around in the draft so it wouldn't be out of the question to see the same occur on Thursday evening.
