The Philadelphia 76ers certainly looked dead after being down 3-0, but this was one way of climbing back into things—even if it is only for one day.
Trailing by one with the shot clock expiring, Philadelphia watched former NBA Finals MVP Dwyane Wade put up a shot that bounced off the rim and left Philadelphia with a 1.5- second differential from game clock to shot clock with the ball.
The 76ers, with nothing to lose and everything gain, chose not to take a timeout or set up their offense.
After a few passes, Lou Williams got the ball up top with about eight seconds left to go, found a bit of separation from Wade and put up a three.
As Williams put it after the game, "If we were going to lose it was going to be on my shot."
Well it was on his shot, but they didn't lose.
Williams drained the three over Wade's outstretched hand and gave the 76ers a lead they held on to for their first win of the series.
It was a big shot for the young player and it left Philadelphia with some hope.
Although the 76ers are still a long shot to even win one more game, this is a great sign for this team.
Lou Williams and the Philadelphia 76ers are alive for at least one more game, and if they keep riding his shot they just might a have a chance.
