WWE News: Sin Cara Doomsday Clock One Minute Closer to Midnight

Sin Cara’s growing pains in the WWE have only continued to mature since his debut with the world wide leader in sports entertainment.  Since his first match, I have had an exceptionally large glass of Sin Cara Kool Aid sitting on my desk.

Unfortunately for him, it still tastes like potential.

Continued problems in the ring, as a result of a lack of communication and chemistry with American opponents, have prevented the Lucha legend from fully assimilating into the WWE culture both in and out of the ring.

Upon his debut with WWE, Sin Cara has literally botched wrestling moves and spots from his entrance to the finish.

In a not-so-subtle effort to shove the highly touted Sin Cara down your throat, WWE has continued their overproduction of his character by changing the lighting during his matches so it can compliment his flashy wardrobe.  Given the amount of shaky moments in the typical Sin Cara match, perhaps the WWE would be better suited accompanying his matches with the comical tunes of Yakety sax.

The continued miscues of Sin Cara warranted a change of scenery to the taped solitude of SmackDown. There, Sin Cara could fly all around the ring with the comforting notion that any miscue he may suffer would be fine tuned thanks to the protective hands of the WWE editing team.

The problem is, however, dude doesn't speak English.

The breakdown of communication, necessitating a bilingual referee during Sin Cara matches, has only added to the exponentially increasing burden of Sin Cara.  Fluency in English was highly instrumental in Rey Mysterio Jr.’s (who Sin Cara will forever be compared to) success.  Sin Cara’s lack of English has proven to be borderline crippling.

What’s even more disheartening for Sin Cara is that fellow new WWE superstar, and Triple H pet project, Kharma seemed to be on her way to becoming a breakout star within a fraction of the time that Sin Cara was even active.  Forget being handcuffed to a taped show, Kharma was getting so hot that, prior to her surprise pregnancy, she was featured on both.

The always skeptical, an at times mean-spirited, locker room whispers suggest that Sin Cara would have been axed if under other circumstances.  However, the embarrassment that Sin Cara's firing would cause Triple H, whose first move as head of new talent development in WWE was virtually hand picking Sin Cara to come aboard, is said to be a considerable factor in WWE’s continued investment in Sin Cara.

In fact, WWE has decided to raise their stakes and continue to invest capital in Sin Cara  Inc. as they are now scouring Mexican wrestling territories for opponents who would better suit Sin Cara's style.

Sin Cara has been afforded the rare opportunity to hand pick an opponent who he feels will highlight his wrestling abilities.

As a result, the WWE is reportedly bringing in Lucha Libre veteran Averno to work with Sin Cara in an effort to expedite the “get over” process.

The WWE is rumored to be seeking multiple play pals for Sin Cara.  The result could be detrimental to promotions like CMLL, where Averno currently works, as a vast majority of Mexican wrestling stars would reportedly jump at the opportunity to work for a national American promotion like the WWE.

So, in essence, should Sin Cara fail to pan out, not only would he prove to be a sunken investment for the WWE, but also he could possibly take down an entire wrestling promotion with him.

Now we’re talking Kwame Brown level of bust.

Once upon a time, Sin Cara's entrance was the main area of concern in his development.  With Sin Cara continuing to struggle, this shaky investment could ultimately end with the potential star's exit from WWE.
