Syracuse Once Again Messes Up Player's Name on Jersey

The Syracuse athletic department might want to look into hiring somebody who can proofread.

At the Orange's spring football game on Saturday, wide receiver Steve Ishmael took the field wearing a jersey with a glaring spelling error.

"Ishmeal."

That's close enough, right? On the plus side, at least they got the number right.

The misspelling of Ishmael's name was no doubt an honest mistake. However, this isn't the first time the Orange have made a mistake like this this year.

Back in February, Syracuse misspelled Roosevelt Bouie's name on a framed jersey that was presented to him during a jersey retirement ceremony:

Hiring someone to proofread might cost the school more money, but it would certainly help the Orange avoid future embarrassing moments.
