Philadelphia Eagles safety Nate Allen was arrested Monday afternoon in Fort Myers, Florida, according to a report from Barry Miller of Fox 4 News.
Police would later confirm the report with NBC 2 in Fort Myers.
Details of the arrest have yet to be announced by the police, but Howard Eskin of FOX 29 in Philly provided an update on Allen's status:
Allen was born in Fort Myers and attended both high school and college in the state of Florida. A second-round draft pick in 2010, he has spent five seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.
The 27-year-old recorded a career-high four interceptions last season, adding three fumble recoveries, five pass deflections and a sack. He is set to enter the free-agent market this offseason.
