On October 19, 2002, a young man aged just 16 years and 360 days became the youngest player in Premier League history to score a goal.
"Remember the name: Wayne Rooney," ITV commentator Clive Tyldesley roared as the boy wonder scored a spectacular goal to help Everton beat Arsenal 2-1.
We certainly have remembered the name, with Rooney going on to score a further 175 Premier League goals and counting—161 of them coming for current club Manchester United.
Rooney is no longer the youngest player to ever score in the Premier League, though. His record was beaten by Leeds United's James Milner two months later, before it returned to Goodison in 2005 when James Vaughan scored against Crystal Palace aged just 16 years and 271 days.
