You wanted him? You got him, and that means all of him.
Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen is catching hell for comments he made recently about the admiration he has for Fidel Castro.
Those words have caused many fans of the Marlins to question their support of the oft-opinionated manager and the club he now leads.
ESPN reports Guillen will head back to Miami to personally apologize in person to Cuban-American fans that are ready to boycott the club until Guillen is fired.
The moment is not lost on Guillen who has a habit of running his mouth, via ESPN.
I will apologize if I hurt somebody's feelings, or I hurt somebody's thought. I want them to know I'm against everything 100 percent—I repeat it again—the way this man (has been) treating people for the last 60 years.
I don't want to make a statement, because I think when you make a statement it's a bunch of crap. I want people to look in my eyes, look in my face and see what's going on, tell them what the deal was.
Like I said, I feel sad and (for) a couple days, I feel sick to my stomach, not because of what I did. Just because I know I hurt a lot of people.
In one glorious debacle, Guillen shows his true colors, and that comes with the highs and lows of a brilliant leader that can be a positive and negative influence all within the span of a day.
Guillen has a habit of putting his foot in his mouth. He once lauded Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez with the same amount of praise he did for Castro, and, in 2006, he was reprimanded for using a gay slur towards a Chicago columnist.

All of this goes to show that any team that has Guillen in charge is getting the best and worse of it.
You are going to get a man that is tireless in his efforts to better his baseball club, and a man that is beyond committed to the sport he adores.
Guillen will speak from his heart and tell you exactly what's on his mind without the pause that most public figures utilize.

And then there are times like this, when Guillen speaks far before thinking, causing him to backtrack and rediscover what he meant and who is affected by his words.
The man offers words through an instant stream of consciousness, making him a horrendous politician.
So it is a blessing that he is not running for office, and merely running a ballclub.
His apology should be enough to assuage many Miami fans that have been taken back by horribly miscalculated thoughts.
For some, there will be no repairing the divide, and that is exactly what you get when you hire a man that is as polarizing as Ozzie Guillen.
He will entice, engage and entertain, but there is a great chance that he will incite time and again.
