Reggie Bush Has Yet to Make Good on His Promise to Give Heisman Trophy Back
Let's go back in time, shall we?
In 2005, then-USC running back Reggie Bush won the Heisman Trophy on the strength of a season that saw him rush for 1,740 yards and 16 touchdowns.
In June of 2010, the USC football program was hit with major sanctions by the NCAA, a hammer that fell thanks in large part to Bush's acceptance of improper benefits. Bush himself was ruled ineligible for the 2005 season.
In September of 2010, Bush agreed to return his copy of the Heisman Trophy amidst heavy pressure from the Heisman Trophy Trust.
That was nine months ago. But according to a report from the Dan Patrick Show, Bush still has his Heisman.

This comes from a source at the Heisman Trust, who said that there was "no specific agreement" with Bush to return the trophy. However, the Heisman Trust has been in contact with Bush's agent ?more than once? about the status of the trophy, which resided at the San Diego Hall of Champions before Bush's father retrieved it.
Exactly where the trophy is now is not known, but the source at the Heisman Trust said that the arrangements have been made for the trophy's return. Apparently, the Heisman Trust is going to send Bush a case for the Heisman, and all he has to do is return it. He doesn't even have to pay for shipping.
It would appear that's too much of a bother for Bush. After all, high-profile NFL players only have so much time on their hands.
Oh wait... there's a lockout going on, huh? And come to think of it, didn't Bush tweet that he was enjoying all the time off not too long ago?
If so, maybe Bush should take some time to enjoy sending his Heisman Trophy back. Seeing as how he said he would, it's the least he could do.
